FAQs

What time can you line up?
a. You can line up 45 minutes before your ticket.
i. VIP – 9:15 a.m.
ii. Early Entry – 10:15 a.m.
iii. General Admission – 12:15 p.m.
Do authors take cash or cards?
a. Most take both. We recommend having cash on hand and all size bills.
Can I bring wagons or carts?
a. Yes, you can. At this time we have no size restrictions (well, maybe not a real shopping cart) but be mindful of the space. There is also a large hallway you can store your carts in.
Do you close the room for lunch?
a. Yes the room will be closed from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. Announcements will be made starting at 11:30 a.m. and you will be asked to leave.
Is there parking and what is the cost?
a. Parking is free. There is a large parking lot right at the entrance to the conference room areas.
Will there be wristbands for any authors?
a. At this time there will not be. However, if we find lines forming we may do wristbands.
What time is the meet and greet Friday and do I need a ticket?
a. Yes, this is a ticketed event and begins at 7 p.m. in the Atrium area. It is sold out at this time. Also, this is not an event to get anything signed. You can take pictures and mingle 🙂
How many books can I get signed by an author and do you have to buy them at the event?
a. There is no limit to how many books you can get signed by an author. We do ask that if you have a large amount that you are aware if a line starts to form and come back or leave the books with the author to sign. You don’t have to buy at the event, you can bring books from home

Will there be additional VIP tickets available?

No. In order to give the readers and authors the best and most comfortable experience, we had a limited amount of VIP tickets available and they sold out quickly. There will be a resale threat in the Facebook Reader Group where you may be able to score a ticket from someone who can no longer attend.

Is there a room block at the venue hotel?

Like our VIP tickets, the rooms in the room block also sold out very quickly.

There may still be rooms available at the Hilton’s regular rate. Also, these other great options are located within 1 mile of the venue:

    • Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott – Knoxville Airport Alcoa
    • Courtyard by Marriott – Knoxville Airport Alcoa
    • Tru by Hilton – Alcoa Knoxville Airport
    • La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham – Knoxville Airport
    • Comfort Suites Airport
    • Candlewood Suites (IHG) – Knoxville Airport

Is this event family-friendly?

No. Due to the nature and content of some of the items being displayed and offered for sale, we recommend that all attendees be over the age of 18.

I’ve never been to a signing before. What should I wear? What should I bring along?

Our best advice for how to prepare for our event is make sure to wear comfortable shoes. There’s a lot of walking and a lot of standing!

Also, prepare to get overheated at some point. We will crank the A/C, but it’ll be August in Tennessee, so dress accordingly.

But the most important thing is to have fun! We recommend you check out this 10 Tips & Tricks for Book Signings video posted by The Love Librarian, who is an avid reader and frequent attendee at book signing events: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjWDac5Cfpk

Please be mindful and respectful of all involved with RRR. This includes authors, assistants, models, volunteers and attendees. While this is an adult focused event, we expect EVERYONE to act and dress appropriately. Please respect personal boundaries. Most of our authors and models are available and willing to participate in photos, hugs, conversations, but please feel free to ask if you have questions. Again all actions during the RRR event are to remain respectful and appropriate
